I would. Condition is key.

Is it respectful to the material to be presented in this fashion? Dusty
and worn? With a check-out card that reflects that it has never been
used? What does that say about the material?

Also-

Many organizations will be happy to send you free copies of their
religious materials. I obtained several Bibles, Books of Mormon,
Q'urans, etc. by contacting religious groups and asking for donations.
(Q'urans were being distributed free at ALA this summer!) I was happy
about that, as I thought that I would rather not spend public-school
funds on any of these materials, and I could not be criticized for
favoring one group over another with financing. Tell them your purpose
and ask politely!

And it also tells the story of many religions much more diligently. New
and well-presented.

Hello -

Another question as I am in the thick of weeding in my spare time...I
have several copies of the Bible (perhaps 4). 3 are very old - printed
from 1920s-1940s and falling apart. The fourth is a Gideon and more
recent, but also falling apart (bindings don't seem very sturdy). 1. -
Is it okay to weed these? - I guess I somehow feel bad 2. Do I put them
in the great big recycling bin with all the others (no I don't have to
hide my weeding and yes I feel slightly odd about recycling the Bible).
3. Do I need to reorder this item - my records show nearly 0 checkout.
Thanks for any advice you can provide!
