Thank you so all the contributors that responded to this question! We
decided to research the Student Time Clock and try it out at one site.

Ways to Track Usage

LM_Net Feedback

I select a certain time each session and do a headcount that I write in
the desk diary. I can go through and get the stats whenever I wish.

Jaime,

I have not used this product yet, but we have purchased it for next
year. It's called "Library Time Clock" or something to that effect. It
is a stand alone computer with this program loaded on it and all the
student does is type in an id (number or name) and chose what he is in
the library to accomplish (read, use computer, take a test, etc.). This
program only cost me $125.00. I am sooooooo looking forward to using it
next year as this year we had to keep track on paper!!! ugghhh!! It
looks very simple to use and I think you would have to have a license
for each campus unless you are an all grades on one campus school. The
guy that sells this is James Maclaskey and you can e-mail him about this
product at maclaskeys@gmail.com <mailto:maclaskeys@gmail.com> His wife
is a librarian and he wrote this program for her. I hope this helps
you.Good luck and have a great summer!!

There should be a way to track the amount of hits on the individual
school library websites.

I have attached one of our schedules. You will see a "quick and dirty"
way to keep track of student attendance at the bottom of the schedule.
We keep a tally and then transfer it to an excel file to compile the raw
data. Hope it helps.

I track independent useage with a sign in sheet. I had over 1600
independent students sign in to use the library for book check out,
reading, homework, test taking, printing from grades 3 to 8, since Sept.
I tally each week and track each months useage.
THe sign in is above and beyond my 24 fixed schedule class and the
additional weekly teacher/class useage of 12 middle school classes who
sign in to use the library each week. I keep a weekly calander where
teachers can sign in for any free open time in the library.

I also track teacher holds through Destiny. and keep track of my time
spent with teachers in support of technology, equipt. and library
resources.
