[LM_NET] best or favorite newish books please

Dearest Colleagues:

I would be interested in your favorite new books that perhaps no one knows
about or at least the books do not get a lot of major attention.  I have a
class coming up that I will be teaching and I would like to share your books
along with mine which tend to be more pedestrian, I am afraid.  I will
create a list and send it out to all -sharing is what we are all about.
