I agree with Debra. I realized how stressed out having checkout at the end of library was making me and everyone else so I moved checkout to the beginning or middle of library. In my opinion getting the right book in a child's hands is my most important job. I can adjust the length of my lesson or story to fit the time I have left. I can't hurry up a child who is looking for the right book without causing someone to stress out (usually me!)
