[LM_NET] Overdue Rant & Funny Stories

We had a 2nd grader
Marcia, I may have your story beat....three times!

We had a 2nd grader who brought her book back and told me her baby brother had sat 
on it and peed on it!  Nothing on the pages...only on the cover.  After consulting 
with our school nurse who assure me I didn't have to worry about some dreaded 
disease...I got cleaner and cloth and rubber gloves and made that book look spic 
and span!  Of course, it helps that it was a Bound to Stay Bound Book with their 
great laminated covers!  And though I can't remember the title...I'm sure it's 
still on the shelf!

Then there was the student who had gotten sick on his way to school one 
morning...and you guessed it...up came his breakfast all over his book.  He was so 
pitiful and scared of my reaction I couldn't do anything but laugh and smile and 
tell him not to worry about it!

And then there was one of my teacher friends who returned a teacher's guide out of 
a kit...that her cats had knocked off a counter into...you guessed it...the cat 
litter box!  She brought it to school to see if I could save it...it was NOT 
salvageable!!!  Let me just say, when something has been in a litter box...it 
BECOMES the litter box!  Ha....
