I include the following information on forms for teachers to request purchases for library materials: Subject area; curriculum objective or unit; does our collection have any materials to support this?; does the District Media Center have any materials to support this?; desired format (book, video, laser disk, etc.); include an area for them to list title, author, publisher, etc., if known. In my first newsletter of the year and again midway through, I suggest that they keep a list of materials needed for specific subjects in the front of their plan book, adding to it as needed.
