I am looking for suggestions for a summer reading book on the eighth grade leve l for a social studies class. The teacher has requested a fiction book dealing with 18th century whaling industry or whaling ships or a fiction book dealin g with nuclear submarines (especially the Nautilus). The english class already reads The True Adventures of Charlotte Doyle by Avi, so we are looking for oth er titles. Thanks for your help. Amy Baumann
