Special group rates at the Kahler Hotel are $65.00 per room Special group rates at the Kahler Plaza Hotel are $85.00 per room Conference Particulars Thursday afternoon Action Labs Apple/Macintosh Lab - session will be working with HyperStudio and new products - IBM Lab - session will be working with Linkway Thursday afternoon Tour Bus ride to Winona and tour Cotter High School, the Minnesota Academy of Math and Science , and the Institute for Effective Teaching, including media center, computer labs, technology center, classrooms, science labs, theatre,TV and recording studios, and more. Visit with teachers, adminstration and students and view student projects . Thursday Mayowood Join the group for an exciting tour of Mayowood . Mayowood is the home of the Mayo brothers . Thursday Evening Plummer House Dinner Dinner at the Plummer House renowned for it's architectural styles and magificent gardens for those who have pre-registered. This is also the past president's dinner. Friday Keynote Ray Dretske, composer, performer and educator will perform and speak about his use of technology in music composition and education. Ray has extensive experience in concert performance, record engineering, electronic music and computer music systems design. Saturday Author Mary Leonhardt author of "Parents Who Read, Kids Who Don't" is a 23 year veteran English teacher with an M.A.T. and an M.A. in English from Brown Univ. and an M.S. in Learning Disabilities from Old Dominion Univ. In the Oct. 15, 1993 review of her book, Library Journal wrote, "Using telling insights into children and the nature of American education, Leonhardt is on target with her explanation for the reason kids are not reading these days."
