using internet to locate demographic information by zip code

I know that you can access demographic information for a particular zip
code on internet, because I have done it before.  However I can't recall
how I did it.  I have tried the U.S. Census, but that only does it by
state.  This information is also available on DIALOG file 575, D&B
Donnely Demographics, but I don't want to pay. Any ideas? Thanks.
