Fifteen years ago I got the money to put in a security system at a high school from the students themselves. I simply compiled my loss statistics along with some anecdotal records--like I had bought 15 copies of Poe's stories in 3 years and had only 1 copy left. I talked to student groups and got half the money donated from them--then I asked the superintendent. He was so impressed that the students cared enough that he chipped in the rest from his discretionary funds. Students do realize what a problem stolen books are. Vicki Sherouse Dallas, TX
