We charge for printouts from the computer if the student could get the info. elsewhere in the library and copy on the copy machine (10 cents a copy). Ex.: World Book Information Finder/World Book Encyclopedia; a magazine article from InfoTrac if we have the magazine in our backfiles. The complaint that we sometimes get, "I thought education was supposed to be free," I answer with, "All you have to do is get out paper and pencil and take notes from these wonderful resources that are provided here for your free use. But copying from a machine is a luxury for which you will have to pay."
