Thanks to all who responded to my request for information regarding professional reading for elementary media/tech specialists. Here are some of the responses I received: Website: http://www.norwich.net/~jochurch/ (Click on the Technology in Education link) Teaching Information Literacy Using Electronic Resources and Skills for Life are both excellent notebook style professional books from Linworth. Also From Library Skills to Information Literacy from HiWillow Publishing. Essential reading is Information Power, the "bible" of school library media specialists. Available from Libraries Unlimited. Also look for journal articles by Ken Haycock (The role of the school library media spec.), Barbara Stripling and the owner/originator of the LM_NET, Michael Eisenberg. I find many of the materials from Linworth Publications in Ohio to be very practical. Home page: http://linworth.com/ The best stuff isn't necessarily books but magazines - especially Book Report, Library Talk, Technology Connection, School Library Journal - and the curriculum frameworks for the grades you will serve. You should read Information Power, available from the American Library Association.
