Unless you had a signed contract with them ahead of time, or the ownership
of the web pages put on the server was addressed specifically in the policy
manual before they started work on the pages, the work was theirs according
to copyright law...

Regardless of who owns the facility used to display the work...

In the same way that an artwork done by a student for a class is his, they
did the work, therefore, they own the copyright.

Now this doesn't mean that you can't remove it from your web server, but
you don't necessarily own the work.
