Re: Librarians and reading

I love to read, but I do not think the librarian's job is to make everyone
else a lover of reading for pleasure.  Some people don't find it a
pleasurable activity and never will, but all have a need for information
and the skills for finding it.

I see the librarian as one who organizes materials so that others may find
what they need as quickly and easily as possible and facilitates their use
of it, whether it be for the purpose of recreational reading or for finding
facts and using them.
