        This is the reply I received from Amazon.com when I posed the
same
query.  Haven't had the time to check with my central office about
whether
they will do it, but don't see a problem with the process. Good luck.

We aren't set up to accept purchase orders per se, since we require
prepayment of all orders before we can ship them.  However, if you
wish to order, we can provide a pro forma invoice for a prepaid check
order.

Just indicate on the order form that you'll be paying by check.  Then,
write us to ask for a printed invoice -- we'll mail it or fax it to
you.  You can present the invoice for payment, get a check and have it
sent to us.  From there we'll gladly process your order.
