Fortunately we haven't had to remove privileges yet, but we *have* had some students ask to use the internet when they haven't returned the signed AUP. In that case, I handle it in one of two ways. If there is time, *I* sit at the computer and let the student tell me what to key in (or we decide together) and how to search. If *I* don't have time to do it and there is a student nearby whom I trust, I let the trusted student do the keying in while the one without the AUP sits beside him/her. Without a properly signed AUP, a student may not even TOUCH a keyboard while the computer is on the internet. That's usually incentive enough for them to get the AUP back to us. I believe if privileges have been removed, yet a student needs to get on the internet for an assignment, I think I would use the same process.
