I am dealing with this same situation and would love for you to post a HIT
when you gather your survey answers. I currently teach 24-26 classes each
week AND am in a private school in which I am asked to do MANY administrative
duties, some of which aren't even Media related. This is my third year and I
seem to get further behind as more duties are given out. I have a new
principal who has a different definition of flexible scheduling than I do. He
says we can still provide the teachers with their planning period AND do some
integrated teaching. He says I need to rely on my full time assistant to
cover a lot of the regular, fixed classes so I can plan with the teachers. He
suggests volunteers could do her job. I am having a difficult time seeing how
this will help free up the media center or ME!
My goal is to start with flex. scheduling for 4th-6th grade. What do you
all think?
I probably already know!
I spend probably 80% of my time preparing and teaching. I must do MANY
administrative requirements at home on MY time!
