LM_NET 07/06/98: No Subject

I've been enjoying LM_NET for a month now, but this is my first time to
write to everyone.

Next week I start a Materials for Children class, of course the main goal
of the class is to become familiar with books and authors for children.
I want to read super fantastic books that appeal to a majority of
students.  I would love to hear from you if you have a favorite
author(s), or book(s) that you tend to recommend to your students.  It
would be helpful, but not necessary, if you would include the grade the
material appeals to.

When I took Materials for Young Adults I was a bit frustrated that I
spent so much time on books I wouldn't recommend.  I'm hoping to avoid
doing the same thing this time.  Thanks!

Subject: TARGET: Flexible schedule

I am a media specialist in a K-5 school with an enrollment of about 580
students.  I have just found out that there is a strong possibility that I
will be able to have a totally flexible schedule next year for the first
time!  My excitement is matched only by my trepidation!  If anyone has any
words of wisdom, "do's" or "don't do's", I'd be very grateful.  If you send
your advice directly to my e-mail address, I'll compile a hit.  Thanks for
any advice you can send my way.
