I got onto LM_NET just recently and may have missed an important part of
the "man" discussion.  However, one suggestion that I'd like to make is
to substitute the word "people" for "man".  The Technology (Industrial
Arts) teachers have been doing this in their materials in NY state for
at least a decade, and it seems to work well in just about every
situation.
