GEN: Overdue books

Hello - Just a thought to brighten your day -

We had a disrict librarian's meeting today.

One item we discussed is what each of us does to get long-overdue books
back.
The next item on the agenda was looking at our board policies, especially
for discarding weeded books.

We decided that we should a special shelf in each library to store the
discarded books.
Then, when a child who is on the long overdue list comes in to borrow a
book, we will send him/her to the discarded book shelf.

Then, if he/she doesn't return it, WE WON"T CARE!!

I think it's a great idea!
