Ah, Albert Payson Terhune and Marguerite Henry and my all time favorite
_Beautiful Joe_  and as to series, I adored Cherry Ames.  After the series
frenzy and reading them all I went on to reading everything on Lincoln I
could get my hands on from The Man Who Shot Lincoln to the The Day Lincoln
was shot.  I still have my whole collection of horse and dog stories and a
wonderful old book my mother read me every year called _Cloverfield Farm
Stories_.  Last but not least, I loved Robert Louis Stevenson.  That's
what got me hooked on the classics.  What fun to reminisce like this!
