Special Note: I am not a school media specialist at this time. I am in the
graduate program at University of South Florida in Tampa. I need to complete
three more courses after this term, plus my field placement before I am
finished. Monitoring listservs such as LM_NET has been assigned to us by our
professor this term in the Collection/Development course.

I am interested in building a collection of picture books for our high
school library. I have a bibliography from the LM_NET archives, but I
need lesson plan ideas to "sell" these books to the faculty. Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

How do I access the bibliography archives of LM_NET to get the list of picture
books for high school Lauren was referring to? I teach ESE students and am
interested in picture books for high school because the population I serve
have low reading levels or are nonreaders due to their disability. It is
planned that some library positions which serve these special students will
be open in my county in the next year. I want to start researching these
types of books for my collection. Some of the new schools being set up for
this population will need librarians that can develop a media center from
scratch to serve the needs of these special students.

Thank you.
