I was recently approached by someone (our principal, actually) to set up a website for a volunteer organization. While I can make web sites and serve as volunteer web master for our school, I have never done this for profit, and have some questions, listed below, for anyone who has had experience with this. I definitely want to pursue this avenue, as it may be a springboard for other clients, and be a good way to make some $ on the side! What is the "going rate" and how is this generally charged (hourly fee, monthly maintenance fee, initial fees, etc.) This is a nonprofit organization. Is there anywhere that offers free server space to nonprofits? I have tons of questions about server space, including - where can they get some, and for how much? If you use a service like Geocities, do you still have to register your domain name? Where does one register a domain name, and is this necessary for all web pages? I would really appreciate a little guidance, or maybe someone is willing to consult with me on getting my little venture started! Thanks, all. Liz K. -- Elizabeth A.
