You know another one to use well before Christmas, is the Christmas Cup, by
Patterson I believe--I just loaned my personal copy to a parent two days
ago.  It is about a young girl who gets teased and ridiculed for buying a
dented old fashioned milkshake mixer cup for 25 cents at a garage type
sale.  Her grandmother turns this into a positive by producing the concept
of a "Christmas Cup" of change collected and earned throuhout the year,
with the purpose of anonymously buying a gift for the person who most
deserved it in the view of this pair.  How and who they decide on is
interesting.  Not a long book.
