GEN" Censorship

Regarding the following quote.:

not published, nobody has a choice, somebody has committed censorship.
Nobody can make you read a discussion or a post that you do not want to
read, but they can make you not read it by not publishing it.  If you don't
want to read about Dr. Laura (or anything else) just don't read it.  But
don't tell me that I can't read what somebody else has to say about
something because you are tired of the discussion and your little clicking
finger is worn out from deleting messages that you don't want to read.  You
don't need a moderator to protect you from messages that you don't want to
read, just don't read them!"

Isn't this what book editors do when they choose which books to print.   We
might not call it censorship, but the editor decides if the majority of the
population would like to take the time to read a book.  If the editor deems
itthe book unneccessary, unimportant or a trivial he censors (discriminates
- another good word made evil) what will be printed.  Peter is simply
editing his list.  He let the discussion go on much longer than most of us
would have.  This list serv is a lifeline to me as I have no assistant.
Thank you Peter for everything you do to keep us in touch with other
professionals.
