I appreciate everyone's concern about professionalism; however I think it is time to end this particular topic. I would, however, like to ask a question. How professional is it to publicly admonish a person? I feel that all comments should have been directed to him directly and not made public. Most comments made on this word provided no insight and were nothing more than a waste of space in my e-mail account. I was shocked to see the word used because I know how those in our field can be, but not offended. I was more offended by those who felt they had to admonish this individual publicly. I hope this topic ends and that people hold themselves to the same professionalism they hold up to others. getting off my soapbox now Kevin Clement UNCG Dept. of Library and Information Studies Greensboro, NC 27402 ktclemen@uncg.edu On Wed, 9 Feb 2000, Smith Family wrote: > I, too, was offended by the word "sucks" in the posting to the listserv. > Does it make me uptight as someone suggested to the last person who > commented about the language?
