She is so right.  The last time our public library had an opening that I
thought sounded interesting I would have had to take a $2,000 pay cut to
work year round, including some evenings and weekends and I am part time in
a parochial school!!!!  Now that's pathetic.  But I remember being told in
library school that school librarians are paid better than public librarians
because, at least in our state, we are on the same pay scale as teachers.
