Chris,
I heard this while driving....my first thought when they said this was,
"where are the librarians??"  But then...in my state it is now law that there
must be a trained and certified media specialist in each school, and maybe
that's not the case in PA?  I would love some input on this from media
specialists in Philadelphia.  What did you all think? What is really
happening?  The best thing about it to my mind is that the people who get so
upset because we "throw away good books" may learn a bit about keeping a
library weeded and up-to-date.
