Dawne, Suzanne and everyone, I agree with the contention that the term "chapter books" is a very broad term and it is not one I use. However I did note that last week in the NY Times Book Review on the Best Sellers List (hardcover) they had a second list for Children's "chapter Books". I was surprised because I had never noticed it before. I was pleased to see that Bud Not Buddy was still on the best seller's list (after the HPs, of course). My kids are still taking out the 4 copies of Bud Not Buddy that I bought after reading the first 2 chapters to them last January. So I guess other kids in the US share their opinions.
