GEN: Media Certification in NY

I have been a lurker for the past few months as part of a class assignment. I am 
currently getting ready to apply for matriculation into the MLS program at Southern 
Connecticut State University.  For those of you who are not aware, the degree can 
be obtained online.  Here in lies my dilemma.  I want to receive my media 
certification.  This cannot be done online and I want to be certified in NY not 
Connecticut.  I have checked out the State education website and spoken to several 
people at BOCES about this and I still don't have a clear idea of what is involved. 
 I am hoping someone out there has experienced obtaining their MLS in a state other 
than NY and then receiving Media Certification in NY state and can share their 
wisdom with me.  Please respond directly to my email address.
