We have a 5 level system that we use at school...
0 = no talking...for use during assemblies and supposedly when you are
traveling in the halls, etc
1 = whisper - talking to the person just next to you
2 = cooperative - talking within a small group
3 = presentation - when you need to speak to a whole group
4 = outside

I am tolerant of levels 1 and 2 generally in the library. The biggest
problem is that our building is a former pod and we have 4 doors...2 of
which serve the 2 computer labs. Most teachers are generally keeping their
children down to a 'dull roar' (level 2.9!) but the real problem arises when
the kids leave the lab...they think that because they can SEE the
playground, they can use the playground level. It is really irritating! This
thread reminds me that I need to send out ANOTHER reminder to the teachers!
