First of all, if you have access to "The American Biology Teacher"
magazine in the February issue take a look at the article on Genetics/DNA=

web sites. The author not only gives some great sites but also tells how =
he
uses these sites with Biology students. He also includes a semester long
activity which culminates in students writing an abstract. =

I showed this article to the Anatomy and Physiology teacher who liked the=

assignment and is considering giving an adaptation as an assignment for 4=
th
quarter.

To help her I have been looking for some information on how to write an
abstract and how abstracts differ from summaries. I found several great
pages on how to write abstracts;

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/handouts/print/pw/p_abstract.html
http://www.gmu.edu/departments/writingcenter/handouts/abstract.html

What I haven't been able to find is something which compares summaries wi=
th
abstracts.

I am hoping that someone has such an item and would be willing to share, =
or
knows of a good site with this kind of comparison.

I will gladly post a hit.
