Hello, We want to collect statistics that show the use of the library other than circulation and online resources, both of which are readily available electronically. We want the bigger picture, like the use of reference books or perhaps library use by students who can't or won't check out. I have read the book Output Measures for School Library Media Programs, and the suggestions for collecting in-library use rate are good (leaving stuff on the tables and counting each hour), but I don't see a suggested paper form to use. Rather than reinvent the wheel, (and my wheels are missing a few spokes these days!), I decided to ask for help. In a high school or middle school: Have you collected statistics on reference books used for a period of one week per quarter, or one week per semester? Have you combined this with collecting other library use statistics? (number of classes, number of fulfilled requests, number of reference questions, etc.) Do you have a form you used? Would you be willing to share? I will post a hit if there is interest. Thank you very much.
