I agree with everything Rob says about the need to teach to our standards and advocacy being a fulltime job etc but I do NOT believe we are "spinning" our wheels when we advocate for flexible scheduling or some variation thereof. If we teach, model, promote our skills and profession and do professional development then we are doing our jobs. If we are teaching in isolation or worse yet, babysitting without making known the advantages of a more flexible model I think we are doing a disservice to our students, staff and our profession. If library teachers do not try to improve the profession WHO will? Remember "The Invisible Librarian?"
