Hi,

Our district budget will be unveiled on 3/10. As the second librarian in
an elementary school, I am a little worried, since librarians are not
mandated at the elementary level...let alone TWO of us! (There are well
over 1000 students in our K-5 building)

I believe it was last year that Doug Johnson presented the advantages of a
fixed schedule, one of which was job security. I am sure that is the case
for me. Our teachers are contractually allowed 250 minutes of planning
time per week. I provide 40 of those minutes, which would be hard to make
up elsewhere. I miss working in a flexible schedule, but I'll take a fixed
schedule over no schedule.

It's a sad time for schools.
