Brainstorm quick reasons for funding

I'd like to brainstorm quick reasons to give a principal as to why he/she
should budget for libraries, not just classrooms and supplies.
For example,
20 books bought for a classroom library sit there only for 20 children.
20 books bought for the library are available to 600 children.
Librarians specialize in matching the right materials at the right time...
