Hello LM_NETTERs, The Multicultural Committee in our K-5 school is considering a program this spring to highlight several cultures' toys and/or games. I need to find stories (not nonfiction) that include one culture's toy or game as part of the storyline. I've not had much luck. Are you familiar with any elementary level fiction books featuring a culture's toy or game? A committee member shared "Galimoto" as an example. It is the story of an African boy who creates a toy vehicle out of scraps. The idea of creating a galimoto is part of the culture. I will post a hit (and remove your email addresses) of responses. Many thanks in advance.
