And to piggy-back on my original message sent earlier ---yes, it's late and my mind
is racing -- I find it interesting that the media is focusing on "logistics" --
whether or not a library is open after-hours -- rather than on the instruction that
goes on daily FROM THE LIBRARIAN -- collaborating
with teachers on curricular units as well as teaching information skills. And why
not educate the public about the wide variety of libraries that cater to their
communities? -- the joint-use school/public libraries -- the many programs that are
offered? Excuse me -- if too much information was
given out about all the things school libraries offered -- we might have to be put
on the same level as school athletics -- let the cheerleading begin!
