Dear Group, My question: "Does anyone know what the funding for the Title V (Aid to School Libraries) will be in the new Federal budget? My district is working on the budgets for next year and I would like to be able to pass the information on to the powers that be." I received two helpful answers: "Concerning Title V funding for the 2005-06 school year, see the news story at: http://www.nsba.org/site/doc_sbn.asp?TRACKID=&VID=55&CID=682&DID=34910" "Title V was to be cut totally. However, Congress decided districts could just transfer funds into that category any way so only cut it about 33%. That means each district, on average, will receive about 66% of this year's allocation. I don't know if this is the same information others have fed you or not - but I do the Federal Programs in my district and that is what we were told." Thanks very much for useful information. I will make sure my District's adminstrators know about this.
