I believe that electronic (online) encyclopedias offer better value for your purchasing dollars if you have adequate access to computers to make use of them because a) online encyclopedias offer continuously updated content versus print sets; b) more than one student can use the encyclopedias at the same time versus print; and c) high school students do not generally use encyclopedias for research except as a very basic starting point to gather preliminary information about their topic. Another added advantage are the additional features many online encyclopedias offer as well as the number of different sets of encyclopedias you have access to. For example, with our Grolier Online subscription we actually have access to 5 series of encyclopedias. Don't be coerced!
