I have changed what I keep and how long I keep it, but I am still keeping back issues of magazines. I keep popular browsing titles for 3 years (guitar player, Skateboarding, GamePro). Students sometimes ask if they can read the old ones and I am happy to help out. I keep Time and Newsweek as long as I can. Between the pamphlet boxes and a set of bound ones given as a gift I can go back to 1960. These are especially useful for history classes, they get to see the ads, the actual coverage of events etc. U.S. History students love them. Also, we have online databases but those don't include the graphics. Finally, we are without online databases right now. The "contract" expired end of August and the new contract isn't up yet. AND no promise that they will fund each and every year. Am happy I have some back issues of magazines, don't have an index to access them but can at least figure some things out.
