Now you've got my brain going, too! It would be fun to have treasure
bottles for various Dewey divisions and have the kids guess whether the
items represent the 500s, 600s, etc. That would spice up a Dewey Decimal
lesson!!

Keep our brains oiled, Barbara!

Hi Deborah
I forwarded your post to OZTL_NET because I think it is a terrific idea ...
and I got to thinking, as you do. If you used a wider-necked jar then you
could put in little objects like an apple or a shoe or a gold nugget or a
whatever to represent some of the favourite fairy tales, much like the
Fairytale Museum someone suggested some time ago. Then while the younger
ones tried to find all the bits, the older ones could try to identify the
stories as well. You could make it trickier by having objects common to
more than one story ...the shoe could be Cinderella or The Elves and the
Shoemaker. I shall warm my brain up by trying to think of the things that
could be used.

Whish I had a circulation desk now! But I shall make one for my grandkids
to play with anyway.
Barbara
