Hello wise ones,

I was just asked to join our building 'Teachers as Readers' group as the upcoming
topic will be The 21st Century Classroom and, "We just know you'll have some
ideas." I'm new to this building this year and don't want to let them down. The
first meeting is going to be a brainstorming session and I'm hoping you can help me
come up with ideas. We have a computer lab in the building that is underutilized
and one of the goals is to come up with ideas that will encourage more use.

My first thought was Will Richardson's book "Blogs, Wikis..." I'm also thinking of
suggesting that each member subscribe to a blog to see what blogging is about and
share the varied ideas they get from different bloggers. I have some that I
subscribe too, but your suggestions are most welcome.

This group has varying comfort levels with technology, so I wonder if there is
something a little less intimidating to start out with. I checked the archives and
found references to a couple of interesting courses, but no book suggestions.

We do have a fairly understanding technology director who has been willing to
unblock certain web 2.0 resources in the past. Edublogs and PB wiki are currently
available to us.

If you have any suggestions, I would really appreciate them, whether you are
suggesting books or good blogs or talking points.

Thank you in advance. I'll post a HIT.
