Hello all: I have been working this summer with two fellow media specialists (both former high school) on organizing a library in an urban area that has an academic summer camp and after school tutoring program for area youth (ages K and up, more elementary and middle school aged). Our collection is mostly donated materials, and we're busily weeding out the bad stuff and trying to organize and label what's good. We've just been told there is some grant money available to purchase some new materials. I was hoping you might have ideas on what are musts for our collection. We have series, fiction, everybody fiction, readers, non-fiction, plus some story collections. We're thinking some African American authors for sure, plus beefing up areas that appeal to reluctant readers (non-fiction, joke books, sports, etc.) Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- Pam Landgraf MSI, University of Michigan Future Media SpecialistClarkston, MI palandgr@umich.edu http://sites.google.com/site/pamlandgraf/ -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
