I'm at a community college, where a student returning to school after some years was hoping that she wouldn't have to *buy* those three "hard print" sources that she was going to need for this research paper she has to do. When I told her that actually, at the library (where she knew she should be going to get these sources), they let you borrow them (with your student ID), and then you brought them back, no charge... she was quite surprised. Another student her age told her that she had been to the public library and that if you told them you were a student that they just *loved* students... and our school librarians helped her a lot, too...
