On the chopping block in Brevard County, Florida is 60 media assistant positions. This would leave a media assistant at only 9, the largest high schools, of 82 schools. Further down the cut list is the remaining 9 positions. In addition, the superintendent has proposed eliminating 9 media specialists by raising the student enrollment cap that results in a second media specialist at a school. The school board is supposed to vote on May 25th. They are taking public comments but no one really expects it to matter.
