Don't know about substituting one for another, but amazingly enough the
Temperance requirement is still on the books. However, SB 5890 would have
repealled the requirement. Can't tell by the bill staus page if it passed
or died in the last session. Might be there, but I'm not savvy enough with
the details on the legislature.

Our staff received a message about an assembly next Friday that began
with:

Subject: Temperance and Good Citizenship Assembly

Hello again everyone. Just an FYI for you about an upcoming assembly:

Next Friday, January 15th, we will be having a short assembly honoring
Temperance and Good Citizenship Day (formerly MLK Day).

Formerly Martin Luther King Day? Have I missed something? When did MLK
day go away? Can someone more savvy about this please explain.

Thanks!
