I am taking an amazing class on Mark Twain in Hannibal, Mo. The Museum Director (one of the instructors) said the statue of Tom and Huck was one of the first five statues in the United States devoted to fictional characters. He is hunting documentation of the other four. The statue was put in the park in Hannibal in 1935. Can anyone supply information about other statues dedicated to fictional characters of that age or older?
