I have been following the discussion about cataloging and I agree with all those in favor of knowing how to do it in order to (1) buy good quality catalog records and (2) maintain the automated system and edit the database as needed and (3) actually catalog if needed. (In Texas, a course in cataloging is required for school library media specialist certification.) I hope some of you will respond to me directly regarding the following question about cataloging for the curriculum. I will post a hit if there is sufficient interest. Do you follow recent USMARC guidelines for curriculum enhanced records? 658 - curriculum objective, standard 521 - target audience notes (reading grade and interest levels, learner characteristics, motivation level) 520 - review, summary Any comments,suggestions?
