All this firm and stern stuff is great and all...but especially with middle
and high school students, nothing is more helpful than bringing your sense of
humor along with you.  Remember that, although they are kids, they are
people, too. Treat them with the respect you expect them to have for you.
 I've found that, especially with middle-schoolers, just liking them goes a
long way.
